The Philip A. Droulia Foundation Partners with Gateway Rehabilitation to Launch Photography Art Therapy Component
Grant from the Beyond the Lens Project will fund a unique visual arts program for adolescents facing substance use and mental health challenges.
PITTSBURGH, PA – October 23, 2025 – The Philip A. Droulia Foundation, Beyond the Lens Project, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Gateway Rehabilitation, Advanced Recovery Network. Through this collaboration, the Foundation has awarded a grant to Gateway Rehabilitation to create a dedicated photography component within its existing art therapy program.
This partnership is aligned with the Foundation's mission of empowering adolescents facing substance use and mental health challenges. The new photography program will provide patients with a vital creative outlet for self-expression, helping them explore and process emotions in a non-verbal, safe environment. The program focuses on reaching individuals who may find it difficult to articulate their feelings and experiences through traditional dialogue.
“This photography program offers a therapeutic window for adolescents to navigate their struggles visually, giving them a voice they couldn't find with words,” said Lindie Droulia, President/Executive Director. “In remembrance of Philip, his many talents, and his passion for photography, we are proud to launch this project to help other young people find a healthy path to healing. We thank our many donors who have made this opportunity possible.”
